My Perform Better Summit Experience

On April 28th, 29th and 30th I had the pleasure of attending my first ever Perform Better Summit. This was the first time Perform Better brought their popular 3-day summit to the Midwest, in Chicago and I got to see some of the best of the best in action.

Perform Better is a leader in functional training seminars and also sells the highest quality functional training and rehabilitative fitness products and programs. They offer balance & stabilization tools, bands & tubing, speed & agility tools, rehab & recovery equipment, free weights as well as body weight training equipment and books & videos to expand your education. I personally consider them to be one of my top resources in the fitness industry. Their seminars are great for the entire array of fitness professionals; anyone who trains or rehabs clients, patients or athletes should check our their stuff.

I have to admit however, with the wide array of presenters available it was hard to make some choices. There were a lot of presenters that I have not yet seen (as well as wanting to see my favorites) and was anxious to get a taste of what they have to offer, so I did have to make some hard choices.

Here's a recap of some of the highlights I personally enjoyed the most:

Friday, April 28th
Evan Osar - Complete Hip Conditioning Facts and Fallacies
Gary Gray - 3D Core Conversion Matrix
Gray Cook - Five Most Common Mistakes in Core Training

Saturday, April 29th
Mike Boyle - Functional Strength
Todd Wright - Vertical Core
Mike Boyle - Fat Loss Secrets
Ryan Lee - How to Get More Clients with "Velvet Rope" Marketing
Gray Cook - Advances with Cable Bars and Bands - Corrective Exercise and Movement Prep

Sunday, April 30th
Lorne Goldenberg - Core Strength & Stability Through Ground-Based Strength Training
Juan Carlos Santana - Metabolic Toolbox: 5 Minute Protocols for a Lifetime of Fitness

A lot of education was jammed packed into three days. I'm glad that every presenter had some products available for more indepth learning. Let's face it, for the great presenters in this industry there is no way you can really grasp all of the information they try to push into the limited time frames that are offered, unless you are able to attend an intensive event with one presenter at a time.

The downside was the time allotted for each presenter on their particular topic. Seriously you could spend an entire weekend which any one of these individuals to fully grasp the concepts in training that they discuss. Each presenter got no more than an hour to discuss the topic they were covering.

I'll be looking forward to the next Perform Better Summit next time they swing by Chicago. I highly recommend that you consider attending a Perform Better seminar if you If you are looking to attend a Perform Better Summit or their popular "One-Day Learn-By-Doing" seminars, you can check them out at
